gHOST Scout for macOS
IP Scanner for Mac
An IP scanner helps you discover devices connected to a network and identify the addresses they are using. gHOST Scout is a network and IP scanner for macOS designed for technicians, network engineers and AV professionals who regularly need to discover, identify and configure IP devices.
What an IP scanner does
An IP scanner checks an IP range for active devices. It gives you a practical view of the network by showing IP addresses, MAC addresses, hostnames and manufacturer information where it is available.
Scanning a network on Mac
Choose the IP range you want to inspect, then run a scan in gHOST Scout. Thorough, Faster and Fastest modes let you select the balance between depth and speed that suits the task.
Identify devices
Use hostname, IP address and MAC address details to distinguish devices. gHOST Scout also uses IEEE/OUI manufacturer lookup to help identify the hardware behind a MAC address.
Open device web interfaces
When a discovered device provides a web interface, launch it directly from the app instead of repeatedly copying and pasting IP addresses into a browser.
Switch between network configurations
IP Presets let technicians save up to five static IP configurations for common networks, then switch back to DHCP when the job is complete.
Monitor devices
Live ping monitoring shows the current status of discovered devices, with an adjustable ping interval that lets you decide how frequently gHOST Scout checks them.
Who is gHOST Scout for?
gHOST Scout is for network engineers, IT technicians, AV installers, AVoIP commissioning engineers and anyone who regularly configures networked hardware.
